| The Junior Lady Knights program is a feeder basketball organization for grade school girls. The mission of the organization is to develop fundamentally skilled and talented basketball players that will become future members of the Alter High School girl’s program. Although open to all, we focus on attracting girls from Incarnation, St. Charles, St. Albert's, & Bishop Leibold. Girls attending these schools will receive priority in team selections. The cost to participate in the program for the 2009-2010 season varies by grade and team. **3rd Grade: $150 **4th - 6th Grades: If only one team in these grades: $250 If multiple teams in these grades: $200 (Metro team players will pay an additional $100) **7th & 8th Grades: $250 For the third through sixth grade teams, we will continue to offer Brown, Gold, and Metro teams in those grades with enough players for multiple teams. All players selected will be placed on an evenly balanced Brown or Gold team that will play approximately 15-20 games. Then all players will also be eligible to tryout for our Metro team that will play an additional 10-15 games (mainly in the Dayton Metro League). These costs do not include the uniform, approximately $50. New this season, all players will wear the "junior high" uniforms from past years as this design is now available in youth sizes. The uniform includes a reversible jersey and a pair of shorts and is yours to keep. Those that own this uniform in a size that still fits can choose to wear it and not incur this uniform cost. Please note that our program is willing to let the 5th and 6th grade teams continue using the old "elementary uniforms" for two and one season, respectively, based on feedback from the teams. Each team will practice approximately twice per week. Game schedules will include the following. Please note that these are approximations and are subject to change based on each specific team. Third Grade team will play 15-20 games Fourth, Fifth, & Sixth Grade teams will play 15-20 games (elite teams will play an additional 15 games) Seventh & Eighth Grade teams will play 20-25 games Player Priority for regular team selection: Daughter of Coach/Board Member; Feeder Student (Bishop Leibold, St. Albert's, Incarnation, & St. Charles); Catholic Parish Member; Other |
